Hot of the heels of their six shows running alongside the Food and drink festival in the city, York’s Little Festival of Live Music have announced their next venture. Rather than write about it myself, the full press release is below:
York’s Little Festival of Live Music: UNPLUGGED
Ten hour music festival comes to York
York’s Little Festival of Live Music will be hosting a weekend of family friendly music at the Black Swan Inn (Peasholme Green) from Saturday 27 – Sunday 28 September. All funds raised during the festival will go to IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services).
Held to mark York’s Little Festival of Live Music’s first birthday, UNPLUGGED will follow in previous events’ footsteps by showcasing the region’s best musical talent in a relaxed acoustic setting, whilst raising money for a local good cause.
Ellen Cole, Festival Director and Organiser, says: “IDAS was the charity we fundraised for during our very first event, and one year on we want to celebrate the charity who helped us kick start York’s Little Festival of Live Music at its beginning. It has been a brilliant year for us, as we have seen our following grow and grow. We have had over two hundred acts apply for UNPLUGGED, so whittling them down to just ten wasn’t the easiest of jobs, but it did allow us to discover more talented musicians who we will be definitely working with in the future. UNPLUGGED’s final line-up boasts both established local musicians as well as introducing the work of new and upcoming performers.”
The line-up for the UNPLUGGED festival includes country-folk quartet Gilded Thieves, americana combo King Courgette, soul-infused melodic folk singer Zak Ford, Sam Griffiths, Rachel Croft, According to Eve, Leo James Conroy, These and The Other Guy, York renowned performer Boss Caine and acoustic folk musician David Ward Maclean.
The festival will take place at the Black Swan Inn from Saturday 27 – Sunday 28 September from 5pm-10pm (doors open 4.45pm) and admission is £4, which will be donated to IDAS.
