Unfortunately, I’ve fallen a bit out of love with this project and I am, at very least, going to be taking a break from it in the near future, more likely giving it up for good. I have committed to getting to 300 live write-ups (at time of this update, that means six more) as that feels like a good milestone to go out on. I will still be attending as many gigs as I can, supporting local bands and local venues but, in future, I will be concentrating more on listening to the music and less on wondering how I am write something different about it.
==========================================================================
I am a regular gig-goer in York, both to see local and touring bands. A huge music fan, with more CDs than my wife thinks any one person should own.
I’m always honoured to be recognised as a reviewer and if I am asked to review a gig I will always try to get down to it. However, please don’t be offended if I turn you down – I have a family and these days have to travel further and longer to and from work, meaning I have less free time. One thing I won’t do, though, is accept free tickets to review a gig. I would much rather support the bands and venues by paying.
My other interests are American comics, SF and fantasy books and I am a season-ticket holder at Leeds United. Some of these may occasionally make appearances in this blog.
My Facebook page can be found at http://www.facebook.com/iandmassey – any fellow music fans are welcome to add/follow me.
